United States of Whatever

Hey everybody! My little brother, Liam, has one of the biggest singles in the UK!! Many of you may know his song "United States of Whatever" from my "J2K" compilation CD or from his own CD releases. Recently, he got distribution for it in the UK and it has EXPLODED!

He's been staying up all night every night doing interviews with the BBC, The Face, NME (where he was the single of the week), and many others. He was invited to be on Top of the Pops, too, but he ain't goin'. He sent them this video instead. He made it all in his office on a budget of $0.

So now he's got record execs chasing after him, including Ringo Starr (yes, the Ringo) who is starting a new label of his own. Meanwhile, Liam is directing Tenacious D, Foo Fighters, and Ben Kweller videos, going on tour with No Doubt, writing and directing the new Tenacious D movie, and oh yeah, writing lots more music.

Man, what a f*'in slacker!

What many people don't know is that about 29 years ago, I taught Liam the numbers 1 through 10 and most of the letters in the alphabet. So I like to think I played a significant part in his current success. And to this day, if you ask him what a cow says, he'll tell you "Moo"... and that's thanks to me, too. It's nice to know all that training has paid off.
